Intro
The Catholic Charismatic Renewal (CCR) is one of the oldest groups in our Parish, Sacred Heart Parish, Babadogo, having been established in 1999, just one year after the parish was founded. The CCR movement within the Catholic Church began shortly after the Second Vatican Council (1962-1965), and it arrived in Kenya in 1974. The first “Life in the Spirit Seminar” at our parish was held in 1999, officially marking the beginning of the movement in our community. Pope Francis refers to the CCR as the “Current of Grace,” a movement that celebrates the outpouring and Baptism of the Holy Spirit, as witnessed on Pentecost, which strengthens our Catholic faith and calls us to share this grace with others, both Catholics and non-Catholics alike.
